Jupiter enters Gemini 7:15 PM EDT

Jupiter, planet of growth and spiritual development, is now stepping into Gemini, a sign where, for being in one of its places of detriment within the Zodiac, it functions with enough fascination and curiosity that it makes progress in spite of the conditions in which it finds itself.  Gemini is the sign of learning and communication, and this is a time of readily absorbed information.  There is a voracious appetite for every layer of learning we can get our hands on, but the follow through here may be difficult.  This may be a time of many new pursuits and passions that end up unresolved or abandoned in favor of the next, shiny new thing.  There is a detachment when it comes to leaving things behind in Gemini, we’re able to navigate the process with intellectual analysis rather than feeling, and rationalization is our best friend.  That can ultimately reinforce unproductive behavior under this transit if we aren’t careful.  This Mutable Air Jupiter is one of going where the inspiration flows free and without consequences, so remember that they will still be lingering in the background no matter how chaotic a path we weave in an attempt to circumvent them.

Jupiter’s orbit always gives us about a year of each planet in a sign, and this particular transit of Jupiter in Gemini will be nice and tidy, it lasts from May 25, 2024 through June 9, 2025 with no dip back into Taurus during the Retrograde, which will last from October 9, 2024 to February 4, 2025 and take us from 21 Gemini back to 11 Gemini.  Once Jupiter ingresses, it’s in Gemini to stay, for better or for worse!  How it will impact you depends completely upon where it falls within the context of your own natal chart, and how it aspects the planets and angles inherent.  Look back to any changes and especially areas of growth and development that perhaps BEGAN in the last two periods under which Jupiter was in Gemini for clues as to how this transit will impact you.  Jupiter was last in Gemini during:

June 30, 2000-July 12, 2001 and June 11, 2012-June 25, 2013

Even if there was no big and discernible shift, Jupiter is about GROWTH and expansion.  What new things were inspired then, that were perhaps developed later? Gemini is a sign that is persistently in a state of flux, and mutation, seeking experience that never ends, so it’s important to remember that, being in detriment, we need to look at the underlying mental Gemini processes of these transit periods rather than “what happened” in a concrete sense.  Where was your HEAD?   What things did you maybe leave behind and stop pursuing then that may be called back up by this particular transit?  It’s also crucially important to consider this ingress in the context of the recent Jupiter/Uranus conjunction that I’ve discussed at length.  Ideas and sudden inspiration and epiphany abounded in a Fixed Earth sign, and now we’ve got Jupiter in Mutable Air, where we are now ready to LEARN what we need to learn to go forth and DO IT.  The key to Gemini as a learning process is to remember that we aren’t experts here, we’re just beginning the process and there is no room for ego.  To make the most of this transit, it’s important to let go of what we think we know, because there is an entire WORLD out there to consider that we haven’t experienced yet.  This is an excellent time to take what you DO know and develop it further, because in the process, we end up learning things we didn’t realize along the way.

Jupiter is now going to be intensifying the domain of MERCURY, as Gemini is Mercury ruled, so keep in mind that Mercury Retrograde periods may hit particularly HARD with Jupiter here, especially whenever Jupiter is in aspect to Mercury, because Jupiter is dropping knowledge directly from Mercury’s sign.  Communication will be absolutely imperative under this transit, it’s important to get our ideas out of our head and into the world, in one way or another, and that involves somehow TALKING about them, conveying them, whether to your own social circle or the world at large. There is a fascinating feedback loop that happens with Jupiter in Gemini, when like minds come together, the growth and development happens at hyperdrive if we can just manage to focus and stay on topic.  Distraction is one of the pitfalls of this transit, as is losing motivation when things don’t manifest rapidly.  Whatever we put our MINDS to under this period has lasting impact and influence if we can get through the ups and downs that it causes. Ideas may spiral rapidly, then fizzle out, and the challenge is to jump on them and ride them through to the end!

Gemini is the sign of the twins, or duality, and encompasses a spectrum of experience.  We can’t just find out one thing here, we have to know all sides of every equation, and this shift into high-powered mental activity may feel exhausting to people who are mostly Earth and Water, but exhilarating for those who have charts with intense Air and Fire.  The chart for this ingress isn’t complicated, there aren’t mysteries to unravel and untangle.

Jupiter enters the sign and is trine Pluto, planet of transformation and the Underworld, and this tells us that the transit will, in part, be about taking what we’re revealing with Pluto delving into the dark side of Aquarius (social structures and hierarchies, along with technology) and bringing it out into the light of day.  Jupiter allows us to LEARN FROM Pluto’s lessons here, and this may be beneficial here in these early degrees.  This may indicate a shift in social groups, as Pluto shows us who or what type of people we need to leave behind, and we may once again shift our connections to one another, how we connect is up for consideration here.  Social Media as an ever shifting landscape may give up secrets during this time, people may seek out new areas in which to connect or change how they use existing methods…we are open to being changed by the people we now surround ourselves with, this Mutable Jupiter in a chameleon like-sign mirrors and emulates, so be careful to remember that information is one thing to regurgitate, but knowledge and experience are EARNED over time, and expertise will always conquer.  Debates about higher education will continue to be waged, that’s also something I touched upon in my piece on Sedna entering Gemini, which can be found on my website.  I will cover the Jupiter/Sedna conjunction that will take place on May 27 on that date on the Divine Flame Asteroid and Dwarf Planet Tier.

Venus, planet of relationships and resources, is only 2 degrees ahead of Jupiter, and Jupiter just made its yearly conjunction to Venus, but back at 29 Taurus.  Venus will be trine Pluto under this ingress, and is pulling ahead of Jupiter.  I wrote about the Venus/Jupiter conjunction as a culmination to the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in a series of late Taurus conjunctions already, and in this ingress chart, we see Venus ahead of the game, perhaps already off to new adventures while Jupiter follows behind on its own adventures.  Venus will make a Cazimi conjunction to Sun at 14 Gemini on Tuesday, June 4, and that is the next big shift in a planetary cycle we will encounter when the Venus Star Point moves from Leo, where the last Retrograde conjunction took place, to Gemini, where this Direct motion conjunction will occur.  The Venus/Pluto trine reveals hidden patterns within a relationship context or in regard to resources, and Pluto in Aquarius may be giving up secrets as chatty Venus in Gemini thinks aloud and says too much, too fast.  Jupiter thrives in this type of environment, Gemini loves intrigue and getting the details that lie underneath the surface, and we are not at all opposed to dubious methods here.  This could be a rather interesting time as hidden information comes our way, so pay attention to the details and allow them to be exposed.

Sun and Moon are in a quincunx aspect to one another from Gemini Sun to Moon in Capricorn, and they don’t see eye to eye whatsoever, but curious Gemini Sun has an odd sense of grounded determination that comes from Capricorn Moon, though Cap Moon is easily frustrated by Gemini’s even shifting shenanigans.  A quincunx is a tense but fleeting aspect to which there is no real resolution, so this ingress has a sense of questioning that we remain bound to, Capricorn Moon CANNOT let go, this is a Moon that will persist once we’ve chosen a course of action.  Gemini Sun is backed by Venus AND Jupiter now, and this is not a sign that caves to pressure, it’s a sign that spits in its face and does something completely new and different, and with Jupiter joining the party, the bold assertion, especially verbal assertion, may be rapid and unexpected and keep Capricorn Moon feeling rather uncomfortable.

Mars, planet of action and drive, is at 19 Aries, in its sign of rulership ON THE DEGREE OF THE TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE CONJUNCT CHIRON!!!!!!!  Those of you on the Divine Lunation Tier have access to my lengthy insight on that Eclipse.  Whatever that Eclipse is activating for you takes an INTENSE turn today and over the next few days with Jupiter on this ingress degree as Mars is here where the Eclipse occurred, ready to take charge and take ACTION.  This Cardinal Fire Mars is relentlessly passionate, and whatever choices we make as Jupiter shifts into Gemini may have lasting consequences, especially decisions made on impulse.  There is no fear of consequences, so that may or may not be advisable…this definitely suggests taking a more aggressive approach, and directly taking charge.

Mercury, ruler of Gemini, isn't involved in any aspects outside of an applying sextile to Saturn that is too wide to bear much relevance here, and is in Taurus, slow and steady and plodding along, grounded and realistic.  This is all that is keeping the brakes on as Jupiter ingresses, and we can expect that we will hit another level of speed and rapid surge of power when Mercury ingresses to Gemini as well on June 3, just ahead of the Venus Cazimi.  Mercury itself will be conjunct Gemini Sun on June 14, and the entire month of June is characterized by these Gemini planets ready for excitement, adventure, social shakeups, and big revelations since they ALL begin their transits in a trine to Pluto in Aquarius.

The only major sticky spots we encounter in June will be when the Gemini planets are all squaring Saturn in Pisces one by one, then Neptune at the end of the transit for the inner planets.  Jupiter will not square Saturn until August 19, 2024 and then again in Retrograde on December 24, 2024 with a resolution square on June 15, 2025 which will happen just after Jupiter ingresses to the sign of Cancer.  I will talk more in depth about the Saturn squares at the appropriate times.

For the duration of the Jupiter in Gemini transit, keep in mind that leaving things behind, or ignoring them, does not make them disappear.  They only get bigger, louder, and more intense.  In order to KNOW anything at all, we have to understand all sides, and therefore it’s time to seek the opposition to everything.  Gemini isn’t a sign that judges, or discerns, Gemini absorbs information and then has the uncanny ability to use it to our advantage.  In order to harness this transit, we have to be open to learning, to changing, and to growing through an evolutionary process that doesn’t allow us to sit still, or become stagnant.  Stagnation breeds nothing but contempt under Gemini transits, and to avoid it, let the mind be as active as it needs to be…but be careful what you feed it and question EVERYTHING.
